After having held official talks, the President of Mongolia Mr Ts.Elbegdorj and the President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Mr Xi Jinping Thursday called a press conference in the State House. Mr Elbegdorj noted that the two Presidents held individual meeting and expanded official talks, exchanging views on many issues and reaching concrete agreements. One of the vital matters was a signing of the Declaration on forwarding the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. This declaration designs fundamentals of the Mongolia-China relations, strengthens an enthusiasm for broadening the bilateral ties, and opens a big opportunity for tackling any matter equally and transparently, he went on. This document expresses an extraordinary and historical importance of the state visit of China’s President, Mr Elbegdorj underlined. Within Mr Xi’s visit, the governmental organizations and enterprises of the two countries held important talks and agreements, and established some 30 contracts, agreements and memorandums. It expresses a big business content of this visit, the President said. The President Elbegdorj said the two sides reached agreements to deeply process mineral products and export them, to develop the infrastructure sector especially the railway, and to make specific progress in tackling problems in augmenting the size of transited freight. The two parties exchanged views about establishing a general agreement on the energy export and import, and reached an agreement to make efforts to make a document on it in 2014. In addition, the sides discussed their willingness to increase the freight size transited by Mongolian territory from Asia to Europe up to 100 million tons by 2020, he went on. The President Mr Elbegdorj said he is glad because some cooperation issues especially on the economic and trade matter were backed by his Chinese counterpart. At the end of the press conference, Mr Elbegdorj said he will share views with his Chinese counterpart on international and regional matters. "I am pleased to say that China intends to focus on Mongolia’s goal to become a member of the APEC," he said.
