On the sidelines of the 15th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Ufa, the Russian Federation, the second trilateral meeting between the Heads of State of Mongolia, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China took place.
The tripartite consultation mechanism to promote trilateral cooperation initiated by President of Mongolia was supported by Russia and China and the second high-level meeting is being organized.
At today’s meeting, Mongolia proposed to establish a research center in Ulaanbaatar to implement feasibility studies and investment opportunities if the three countries will launch a joint project in infrastructure or investment fields.

The parties have signed 4 documents which will establish legal framework for further cooperation. First, a mid-term development pathway for trilateral cooperation was approved by the parties. In this document, Mongolia proposed to enhance trade and economic partnership, to increase transit rail transportation and to explore the opportunity to establish a joint railway transportation and logistics company. 

The first trilateral meeting between Mongolia, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China was held on September 11, 2014, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
