Speaker of the Denmark's parliament Mr Mogens Lykketoft paid an official visit to Mongolia on March 2-6, 2013. Mr Lykketoft was accompanied by his four Deputy Speakers of parliament, and by Mr Garsten U.Larsen, the secretary-general of parliament.
This visit of the Folketing Speaker of the Kingdom of Denmark is special one because the visit is coincided with the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The bilateral ties have deepened last twenty years after Mongolia has transmitted into the democracy.
During the visit, the Speakers of the two countries exchanged views on future bilateral cooperation in trade, infrastructure and mining sectors.
The Folketing Speaker Mr Lykketoft has expressed his country's willingness to collaborate with Mongolia in the sectors of agriculture, renewable energy, mining and heating system of Ulaanbaatar city's districts.
The Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold said that Mongolia is willing to cooperate with Denmark and to share experience in agriculture, in improving heating system of Ulaanbaatar city's districts and in manufacturing of dairy products.
The Danish delegation got familiarized with "Social Partnership Network" NGO which was established and financed by the Danida project at Denmark's government and the Mongolia-Denmark Society. During last twenty years, Denmark has been rendering assistance to Mongolia in fortifying the democracy.
Durng times of transmitting into the democracy at the beginning of 1990s, the Denmark's government implemented several projects on printing industry and it has significantly contributed to the realizing of freedom of speech protected by the new Constitution of Mongolia.
