U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits 19th International Caspian Oil & Gas Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition and Conference
Baku, June 6 (AzerTAc). The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday as part of her Baku trip, visited the 19th International Caspian Oil & Gas Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition and Conference in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.
The U.S. Charge d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Adam Sterling, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States Elin Suleymanov and the other officials accompanied Mrs. Clinton.
The US Secretary of State visited the stand of the U.S.-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Clinton was told that the Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference is held annually under the patronage of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, who traditionally opens the event. Some 304 companies from 35 countries are participating in this years’ show, including national groups from the UK, Germany, China and Russia. Some 30% of this year’s exhibitors are first time participants, including a host of Vietnamese companies. Some 60% of the exhibition space is taken up by international exhibitors.
Exhibitors showcase the latest developments in oil and gas equipment and innovative extraction, transportation technology and storage systems. Current and future local and international oil and gas projects are also presented.
Mrs. Clinton was also said that overall, the exhibition has grown by 15% this year and that the difference in this year’s exhibition is that a large percentage of participants have increased the size of their exhibits to show a completely new design concept in their exhibition stands.
