Enhancing competitiveness is a strategic goal set by the Kazakh government. This includes improving Kazakhstan’s positions in the World Bank’s doing business ranking. For this, international experts will identify Kazakhstan’s most attractive city for business. They will study doing-business conditions for a year. The assessment will be made in accordance with four criteria. They are: enterprise creation, permissions for construction, connection to the electricity grid and property registration. This was reported at the World Bank’s “Doing Business” ranking presentation in Kazakhstan. Experts held such studies in six regions in 2017. This year a comprehensive study of the business environment will be held for the first time in all fourteen regions of Kazakhstan.

AIBATYR ZHUMAGULOV, KAZAKH DEPUTY MINISTER OF NATIONAL ECONOMY:
- The results of last year’s survey showed that, in general, doing business in Almaty was better than in other cities. At the present time, the use of this experience in other cities is under consideration. Especially, in terms of the four analyzed indicators.
