Information technologies are developing dynamically in Kazakhstan. At present, digital industry developments are required for economic modernization. The introduction of IT-technologies in everyday life is what the Design Bureau students at the Kazakhstan University of Innovative and Telecommunication Systems in Uralsk are trying to implement. There are 40 students in the bureau. They learn about technologies that can be applied in teaching, robotics, construction, architecture, and even in medicine and cyberspace protection.

AMIR KAMI, STUDENT, SCHOOL №21, URALSK:

We can, for example, make a robot, which is after the combination of Kirlian effect and NeuroSky, will be able to read minds and read the human aura, a person’s intentions. Create a robot with software that can easily detect a hacker.

Russian scientists, inventors and the developers of the existing industrial innovations were invited in the university. The team is testing new smart technologies for home appliances, teaching programs and robotics.

ALMAGUL KAMIYEVA, UNIVERSITY’S FIRST PRORECTOR:

The main priorities of the President’s address are cyber security, robotics and 3D printing. This is what our students are engaged in. They study torus technologies, which will be the main platform for housing and communal services, agriculture, infrastructure development and logistics.

AKSERIK AITIMOV, RECTOR, KAZAKH UNIVERSITY OF INNOVATIVE AND TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS:

We see that agriculture will be and remains the main driver. We are ready to equip agriculture with high tech specialists. At present, all educational institutions and scientific community are developing high tech.

Innovative technologies such as 3D printing and virtual reality technology are utilized in 10 out of 20 subjects at the bureau. New generation technologies are developed in Atyrau as well. Digital Manufacturing Laboratory’s young innovators can make a laser cutting device and a 3D printer and other high-tech equipment. Controlled by computer programs, high tech machines can process any materials into a finished product or bring any idea to the finilized project. One of the first developments is a solar panel. It works on the principle of a sunflower, turns towards the sun.

ASSEM SATMUKHAMBETOVA, PROJECT DIRECTOR, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT:

Local young people will be able to develop applied skills in science and technology, mathematics and engineering. We want this platform to help teachers in developing their digital literacy.
