Integration group of the Operation Committee of the first European Games (BEGOC) has held a conference on transport questions.

The event attended by representatives of numerous state and governmental structures discussed the transport policy of the Games, special road stripes, the transport communication program, main directions of transport, main route network of the games and other issues.

BEGOC transport department representative Vusal Rajabli said the capital’s transport system is completely ready for the Games, noting that special stripes intended for only usage of European Games participations will be drawn in the special routes of European Games. “These stripes will be completed at late May. Other vehicles cannot use these stripes. Therefore, the subway will be only transport facility for all. Drawing of these stripes will be started soon. The citizens are recommended to use public transport”, he said.

BEGOC official noted that parking also will be controlled. According to him, switching of working time to the phased schedule will help traffic jam to be eliminated.

“High-capacity transport facilities will be entered the city at night. The transport facilities will have badges. This will also concern taxis. The metro does not move to all objects where European Games will be held. Therefore, special centers will be established near the 8 metro stations to carry fans to the objects”, he said.

He also noted that only transport facilities with WAPP (BEGOC and police cars) can park in the special places.

All vehicles can pass through the parking control zones without WAPP (but no parking).

Only vehicles with WAPP can park in the legal parking places of public roads.
