In the Asian Games being held in Incheon city of South Korea, Mongolian athletes have grabbed four gold, three silver and six bronze medals in judo and shooting tournaments ranking in fifth place in the medal tally by September 24. Mongolian judokas have brought the most of medals — three gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
On the first day of judo tournament held September 20, the twice silver medalist of World Youth Championships in men’s 66kg category D.Tumurkhuleg and a world champion in women’s 48kg category M.Urantsetseg won gold medals. On the second day of judo tournament, Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar captured a gold medal in the men’s -100 kg category contest
On Wednesday, international sports master Ch.Narantuya won the gold medal in the 50 metre rifle prone competition with 60 shots scoring 624.1 points and setting a new national record.
Our basketball men’s team has been qualified to the next competitions after becoming the second in the “A” group of qualifying round. On Tuesday, Mongolian basketball players have defeated the strong team from Jordan with score 83:74.
