Five Kazakh business projects will represent Kazakhstan at the leading start-up platform of Southeast Asia in Singapore. Nazarbayev Center hosted a meeting on the results of the Smart Zholy program. Over 100 teams from all over Kazakhstan participated in the project. Singaporean venture investors joined the special panel of judges to select the best projects. The program winners have the opportunity to participate in the Echelon Asia Summit to be held in Singapore in June.

THADDEUS KOH, MENTOR, SMART ZHOLY PROGRAM:
- For the last eight weeks we’ve been traveling in Asia of fifteen cities and listening to 250 pitches and we are here today in Astana. I think a fair number of these startups will be key to the final conference in Singapore where they will compete together with the rest of the Asian companies.

Developers of traffic fines payments application are among the winners of the startup competition. The application allows the people of Kazakhstan to quickly and efficiently pay fines for traffic violations.

ALIBEK NARIMBAYEV, PROJECT PARTICIPANT:
- Payments are made instantly, in two minutes, then fines are deleted from the database. A user receives an e-gov check which equals to a paper check by the law. It is very convenient and saves time and money.

Participation in this summit provides an opportunity for Kazakh start-ups to present their innovative projects at this international platform. Every year, about 2,000 people visit the summit, including businessmen, venture investors, journalists and regional leaders.
