The biggest international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin opened on Tuesday in the capital city of Federal Republic of Germany. The event has gathered representatives of more than 10 000 tourist companies from more than 180 countries.
Mongolia has been chosen as the partner country under the motto “Mongolia, Nomadic by Nature” for this year's ITB travel fair and our country is represented by 16 tour operators and two hotels on an official basis and more than 50 tourist companies are participating in the event as observers.
Mongolia has been participating in the ITB exhibition since 1999 and has been chosen as a partner country for the first time. In 2011, our country took part in the event as a cultural partner country.
The President of Mongolia Mr Elbegdorj who is now on working visit to Germany gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the world’s largest travel fair.
Everyone believes that as the partner country, Mongolia will successfully present itself to the international market by sending out a signal as an emergent tourism destination.
By the way, Mongolia set a goal to receive 1 mln tourists next year. According to the statistics, in 2013, almost 417,000 tourists traveled to Mongolia,
The logo for Mongolia at the exhibition is a mongolian national ger and four gers have been built in the exhibition halls. Mongolian promotion and advertising occupies 400 square meters of the exhibition space at the show.
