Ulaanbaatar is the first Asian city, which is connected to “Google Street View”. The project “Google Street View” which started in October 2014 in the scope of the “Smart Ulaanbaatar” program is currently being successfully implemented in Mongolia. So far, 6000 km roads including the capital Ulaanbaatar and four other cities have already been connected to Google Map. Streets of these cities have been visualized in 360 degree panoramic views. Google Street View allows users take a virtual "walk" through cities around Mongolia, such as Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan, Erdenet, Choir and Shainshand.
This co-operation with Google has many advantages for example: attracting tourists to Mongolia and, subsequently, increasing revenue from tourism, improving city safety and crime prevention.
.Besides that, Mongolian museums, such as the National Museum, Zanabazar Museum, and Bogd Khaan Museum have been included in the “Google Art Project”. Therefore, these museums have been placed in the list of “must see museums of the world”.
