Aeroflot performs first flight to Shanghai after China lifts anti-COVID restrictions

SHANGHAI, February 17. /TASS/. The first Aeroflot flight between Moscow and Shanghai since anti-COVID restrictions were lifted on the Chinese border landed safely on Friday at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport.

According to TASS, there were over 80 passengers on board. The majority of them are Russian citizens who have come to Shanghai for business or to see their family. There were no tourists since China had yet to provide the necessary visas. The plane returned to Moscow.

Aeroflot flights to Shanghai will be operated three times per week beginning February 16, the company said. Flights back to Moscow are expected to depart the next day local time.
