10 Iranians on list of World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds

TEHRAN,July 6(MNA) – Ten Iranian scientists have been named to Thomson Reuters’ list of The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds 2014. The list includes more than 3,200 scientists from around the world who have published the highest number of articles that are cited the most frequently by other researchers. In the field of engineering, Mehdi Dehqan of Amirkabir University of Technology, Farnoush Faridbod, Mohammad Reza Ganjali, Siavash Riahi, and Parviz Norouzi, all from the University of Tehran, Davood Domiri Ganji of Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Mehrorang Qaedi of the University of Yasuj, and Hassan Ali Zamani of the Islamic Azad University; and in the field of mathematics, Saeid Abbasbandy of the Imam Khomeini International University and Majid Es’haqi Gorji of the Research Group of Nonlinear Analysis and Applications of Semnan University, have been placed on the list of the world’s leading scientific minds. The scientists have all recently published at least 15 papers with notably higher levels of citations. Thomson Reuters is a leading producer of bibliometric statistics and one of the main sources of impact factors used in the assessment of scientific articles and careers.
