11 Malaysian OGSE Companies Showcasing Capabilities At OTC In Houston

KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 (Bernama) -- Eleven Malaysian oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) companies are taking part at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, the US from May 2 to 5. Their participation were arranged by the Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). MPRC President and Chief executive officer Shahrol Halmi said the OTC Houston would enable the Malaysian OGSE companies to gain international exposure and expand their market footprints. He said the OTC would also pave the way for Malaysian firms to be valuable partners to global OGSE companies. "The Asia-Pacific region is widely seen as one of the fastest growing oilfield services markets and projected to hit US$107 billion in market value by 2019. "We believe that global OGSE companies will be able to forge strategic alliances with Malaysian OGSE firms to facilitate their growth plans in Asia," he said in a statement Tuesday. The companies, comprising a mix of small-medium enterprises and corporations, as well as MPRC and MATRADE are housed under the Malaysia Pavillion themed "Grow in Asia from Malaysia". The Malaysia Pavillion will help the Malaysian OGSE firms reach global decision-makers from key country pavillions with significant petroleum resources, independent and national oil companies, industry professionals and academics. --BERNAMA
