12m Tons Steel Output Planned By Next Year End

Tehran, April 10, IRNA – Managing Director of Isfahan Mobarakeh Steel Complex Mohammad Masoud Saminejad said on Tuesday that 12 million tons of steel will be produced by Mobarakeh, Hormuzgan Steel and Saba Steel Complexes by end of the next Iranian calendar year of 1393. Saminejad told IRNA that a 30,000 billion rial investment will be made in the project which has shown between 30 and 90 percent progress. By end of the 5th Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2011-2015) the countryˈs steel production capacity will stand at 42 million tons, he added. In the next 12 years, Iranˈs steel output will total 55 million tons, he added. Thus far, 40 countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa are importing the products of the plant, he concluded./end
