15,000 bpd Of Oil Produced In New Southern Oil Fields

Tehran, Feb 2, IRNA – Some 15,000 bpd of oil were produced in the Sarvestan and Sa’adatabad oil fields in the southern province of Fars bringing in some 1.5 million dollars to the country each day, it was reported Saturday. Managing Director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company Mehdi Fakour told IRNA that the successful operation of the two oil fields would, for the first time, join Fars Province to the club of Iran’s provinces with oil reservoirs. The Sarvestan Oil Field is located some 110 km southeast of the provincial capital city, Shiraz, while Sa’adatabad is situated 20 km north of Sarvestan, Fakour said. The two oil fields lie in a 242-km vast area with the total capacity of some 1.402 billion barrels of oil in place, he added./end
