17.4m Tons Petrochemical Products To Be Exported By Year-end

Tehran, May 15, IRNA – Managing Director of National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NPC), Abdolhossein Bayat said on Tuesday that as much as 17.4 million tons of petrochemical products will be exported by end of this year on March 20, 2014. Bayat told a press conference on the sidelines of the 10th Petrochemical Forum that last year, about 16 million tons of petrochemicals were exported. He said 19 million tons of the products are annually marketed internationally. He said presently, one billion tons of varying kinds of petrochemicals, worth $3.9 trillion, are produced annually. He said that Iran petrochemical industriesˈ installed capacity amounts to 60 million tons. The figure, he added, should reach as high as 100 million tons by end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2010-15)./end
