21 Companies win Jerri Al Samr Logistic Zone Lands Allocation Draw

Doha, April 21 (QNA) - The logistics committee at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce on Monday conducted a public draw for allocating the land plots of the first logistics zone in Jerri Al Samr, Umm Salal and announced the 21 winning companies. During the draw press conference, logistics committee's head Hamad bin Ali Al Mannai said that the committee expects the investments in Jerri Al Samr logistics zone to exceed QR1.2 billion. 116 companies signed up for the project, of which 42 companies met the qualification criteria and entered the draw on 21 land plots of different areas. The zone will have 21 plots of land for investment across various storage projects. The overall cost of the infrastructure work amounts to QR133.25 million and it is expected to be completed within 24 months. Jerri Al Samr logistics zone is expected to serve the northern parts of Qatar being close to the Al Shamal high way. It will have comprehensive infrastructure with easy access to key commercial venues in the country. The logistics committee took the market needs into account in its allocation criteria along with the those of investment sectors by evaluating the applications submitted by the companies. (QNA)
