35% Of Country’s Handicrafts Produced By Tribal Women

Gachsaran, Kohkiloyeh and Bovirahmad province, May 13, IRNA – Deputy Head of Tribal Affairs Organization said around one million and 180 thousand people live in tribal areas and the women in these areas produce 35 percent of the country's handicrafts. Hassan Mostafanejad made the remarks in the closing ceremony of provincial tribal women festival here on Saturday. He added that 25 percent of the country’s red meat is also produced in tribal areas, too. He also said new energy consumption patterns are being introduced among tribes and some universities in cooperation with Tribal Affairs Organization are equipping tribes with solar water heaters and solar-charged lights./end
