40 Ambassadors To Attend Mining Investment Confab

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA - Forty ambassadors and diplomatic delegations are expected to attend the Third Conference on Mining Investment Opportunities together with the third relevant exhibition and fifth mining engineering confab, the head of Iranian Mining Engineering Organization said. Hormoz Nassernia added that last year, 30 ambassadors and commercial attaches participated in these events. Speaking on the presence of foreign firms, Nassernia said 15 percent of the participating companies are foreign firms. Exploration, extraction, processing of mineral industry and production of equipment required by mining sector are among four pillars of the exhibition. “The conference is focused on processing minerals,” he said, stressing that this process will play an influential role in the country’s development. Based on official statistics, Iran possesses 68 mineral reserves, of which 50 percent have been extracted. The events will be held from October 14 to 16 at Tehran’s Mosalla (grand prayer ground)./end
