Jakarta, Nov 3 (Antara) -- The beauty of Indonesian tourist destinations and the uniqueness of the county`s culture are being highlighted by 45 Indonesian tourism companies at the three-day World Travel Market being held in London from Monday. Compared to tourists from other European countries, British nationals are more common tourists in Indonesia, the Tourism Marketing Director General of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Esthy Reko Astuti, said in London on Monday. She added that the ministry had rented 305 square meters of space at the exhibition and that it was more strategic than last year. Indonesia participates at this exhibit, which is the world`s second largest, every year. Astuti explained that Indonesia`s participation at the travel fair is expected to boost the country`s tourism industry and help it achieve the target of 20 million tourists, as set by the government, by the end of 2019. As many as 153,351 British tourists visited Indonesia in August. This shows an 8.37 percent increase compared to that of the same month last year. The tourism companies taking part in the event are from West Java, Central Java, Jakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, and West Papua, while the local governments of Karangasem Regency, Mamasa Regency, Manado, and Central Java are also participating.
