51 Pct Of Agencies Spend More Than 90 Pct Of Budget

Jakarta, Jan 7 (Antara) - The finance ministry said 44 or 51.2 percent of the government agencies succeeded in spending more than 90 percent of their respective budget funds in 2013. "The 44 ministries and other government agencies were above the average in budget spending ," Budget Director General Askolani said here on Monday. Askolani said among the agencies spending more than 90 percent of their budget fund included the public works ministry, the defense ministry, the agriculture ministry, the forestry ministry, the trade ministry and the police department. The data, however, are provisionally recorded on Dec 31, 2013 and could change after the final figure were given by the treasury directorate general, Askolani said. The finance ministry said there were 28 agencies or 32.6 percent succeeded only in spending between 80 percent - 90 percent of their respective budget fund with 14 other agencies spending only less than 80 percent of their budget funds. The agencies that succeeded only implementing less than 80 percent of their targets include the foreign ministry, the office of the coordinating minister for economy, the energy and mineral resources ministry and the state ministry for state apparatuses. Based on the latest data in 2013, spending by the central government reached Rp1,125.7 trillion or 94.1 percent of the ceiling of Rp1,196.8 trillion . Altogether, state spending in 2013 totaled Rp1,639 trillion or 94.9 percent of the ceiling of Rp1,726.2 trillion.
