52 million travellers use Suvarnabhumi airport in 2015

BANGKOK, Oct 15 (TNA) -- Suvarnabhumi airport has served 52.38 million passengers and 310,867 flights in the 2015 fiscal year (from October 2014 to September 2015). Suvarnabhumi airport general manager Sirote Duangratana said the number of passengers rose by 12.66% and that of flights increased by 6.12%. The passengers comprised 43,946,533 people on international flights (rising by 15.5%) and 8,437,153 on domestic flights (dropping by 0.34%). The flights consisted of 242,953 international flights (increasing by 7.09%) and 67,914 domestic flights (rising by 2.81%). Mr Sirote predicted that the number of passengers at the airport would grow by 12.7% in the 2016 fiscal year. Suvarnabhumi airport would be further improved to serve more people and additional facilities would include more benches, charging outlets for electronic gadgets, airline lounges and better toilets, he said.
