90 percent of works on Shahdeniz-2 project completed, next year they will come to an end completely

Baku, January 11, AZERTAC “Last year there were many important events. We took the next steps directed to enhancement of our energy policy. Successfully implementation of the "Southern Gas Corridor" continued. Though our oil revenues were reduced by three-four times, we obtained the credits from abroad, at the same time at the expense of internal means we took all necessary steps connected with implementation of the "Southern Gas Corridor" and "Shahdeniz-2" projects. Today, "Shahdeniz-2" is one of the largest gas-condensate fields on global scale – 90 percent of works here already came to an end, and next year they will come to an end completely”, President Ilham Aliyev stated at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socio-economic development of 2016 and objectives for future. The Head of State noted that “a considerable part of the TANAP project was realized, there is a work on other segments of the "Southern Gas Corridor". Last year we held the second meeting of the Advisory Council of the “Southern Gas Corridor" in Baku. All countries participating in this meeting, the European Commission, the United States of America and all members of the “Southern Gas Corridor" once again specified leadership of Azerbaijan in the adopted statement. We are leaders, initiators, the leading force of this project. We realize this project together with all our friends, the partner countries and international organizations”.
