Ambassador: France inclined to continue presence in Iran

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA – French Ambassador to Tehran Bruno Foucher said his country is keen to continue its presence in different sectors of the Iranian economy including auto industry. Addressing the 2nd Iranian Auto Industry International Conference, 2014 here on Monday, he pointed to the long history of France's presence in Iran. He said representatives of multiple of French auto manufacturers were present in the event which indicated their interest and will to continue with their investment projects in Iran. Noting that the French companies are waiting for more apt economic situations in Iran to make investments here, the ambassador pointed to the favorable process of nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1 and hoped for positive outcomes which would pave the way for better mutual cooperation. The 2nd Iranian Auto Industry International Conference began here on Monday in the presence of Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and representatives of a number of foreign companies. Over 500 guests from 250 leading auto companies of 30 countries have taken part in the event. Determining plans for the auto industry and promotion of international cooperation among auto-making companies worldwide are introduced as the objectives of the two-day conference. French auto-makers are the biggest participants of the conference followed by China, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Germany and Italy./end
