Amber China Resources Allots US$5.34 Million For Expansion

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Amber China Resources Sdn Bhd, owner of the Amber Chinese Muslim restaurant in Malaysia, is allocating US$5.34 million (RM22.5 million) to open 15 branches nationwide over the next two years. Managing Director Ismail Nuh@Cui Wei said a new branch in Malaysia's east coast state Terengganu costing about US$356,114 (RM1.5 million) is expected to begin operations by the first quarter of next year. "The plan to open branches in the East Coast states is in line with the aim of the parent company, Amber Group Holding based in Lanzhou, China, to expand overseas in a bid to strengthen the brand outside China," he said in a statement Thursday. A branch each will also open in few spots around Klang Valley namely Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur and Ampang, Selangor, he added. Amber Group, which began operations in 2009, has 19 Chinese Muslim restaurants in China and one in Kuala Lumpur. (US$1 = RM4.21) --BERNAMA
