Ambon Tourism Attractions To Be Inventorized

Ambon, Maluku, April 16 (Antara) - The Ambon Tourism and Cultural Department has planned to make an inventory of the various tourist attractions in the Maluku provincial city of Ambon, reported an official. "In the near future, we will inventorize several tourist attractions and their supporting facilities in an effort to boost tourism in the area," local Tourism and Cultural Department Chief Peter Ohman noted on Wednesday. He remarked that the inventory process was part of the tourism villages program, initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. "The inventory process will also be balanced with the supervision and construction of tourist facilities, as well as culinary business that will be managed by both private parties and the regional government office," Peter elaborated. He pointed out that Latuhalat, Amahusu, Soya, Hutumuri, and Hukurila are among the ten villages that have been identified as tourism villages. "These villages have been beautified in order to attract more tourists," he pointed out. According to him, Latuhalat and Hukurila villages have an extraordinary potential to become top tourist destinations in Ambon. "Latuhalat has cultural diversity and offers marine tourism, while Hukurila offers underwater panoramic views for divers and underwater photographers," Peter claimed. He was optimistic that the people of Ambon will be able to generate additional income from the tourism villages program, thereby boosting the tourism sector.
