Araqi: 40m Cm To Be Added To National Gas Output Capacity

Tabriz, E.Azarbaijan Prov., Oct 1, IRNA – Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hamid-Reza Araqi said on Monday that 40 million cubic meters would be added to the national gas output capacity once part of phases 12, 15 and 16 of South Pars gas field come on stream. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of Seminar on Health and Safety Environment, Araqi said that attention are now focused on safety of gas pipelines at the South Pars phases to guarantee protection of environment. “Since Iran enjoys the first and biggest world gas reserves, all lines for transfer of gas and the distribution networks are kept and managed based on the international standards.” Elsewhere in his remarks, Araqi pointed to export of natural gas to Iraq as of next year and said conclusion of an accord with Japan which has been facing the highest degree of natural disasters would prepare the ground for using practical experience in safety of gas pipelines./end
