ASEAN CEOs Positive On Global Growth

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- The majority of chief executive officers (CEOs) in ASEAN believe they can navigate through a more challenging environment in the next few years even as economic growth is expected to moderate. Part of the challenge the CEOs are facing comes from the changing business landscape. These are some of the findings contained in the KPMG 2016 Global CEO Outlook study released on Thursday. "While 83 per cent of the top executives believe that the next three years will be more critical to their industry than the previous 50 years, they are confident in their company's growth prospects. "The figure is higher than the global average, whereby 72 per cent felt likewise," Managing Partner of KPMG in Malaysia Johan Idris said in a statement. He said highlights of the study brought to light the ASEAN CEOs' expectations for business growth, the challenges they face and their strategies to chart organisational success over the next three years. "ASEAN is enjoying a period of robust growth rates and significant consumer base capturing the world's attention. "For leaders in ASEAN, it is critical to build support for reforms that will last well beyond their own time in office. "In Malaysia, our core fundamentals have placed Malaysia among the top 15 countries most favoured by multinational companies in the 2015-2017 period due to, among others, its strategic location, competitive business costs as well as low and stable inflation rate," he added. --BERNAMA
