Austrian envoy: Iran’s auto industry future promising

Tehran, Feb 13, IRNA – Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Feredrich Stift said there is a great future ahead of Iran’s auto industry. The Austrian envoy made the remarks on the sidelines of the 4th Iran Automotive Industry International Conference (IAIIC) currently underway in Tehran. Stift described the prestigious exhibition which kicked off in Tehran on Sunday in participation by 400 foreign companies as a 'big event'. The diplomat reiterated that Iran not only produces its own cars, but also cooperates with several global auto companies from Japan, France, South Korea, etc. Hailing Iran’s great technological knowledge, he underscored that the county is a big car producer. The envoy noted that Austria and Iran enjoy amicable relations, adding that the mutual cooperation is moving ahead. Focusing on sales and aftersales services, the IAIIC is the biggest automotive gathering in the country after the July 2015 nuclear deal. Officials and directors of big Asian and European car manufacturers including Peugeot, Citroen, Scania and Renault as well as domestic car making companies have attended the two-day event underway in Milad Tower. Some participating countries in the 4th IAIIC are France, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea and China. 1378/IRNA
