Automation is key to sustaining operation efficiency and productivity: GASCO

ABU DHABI, 1st June 2016 (WAM) - Sultan Al Muhairi, Senior Vice President for Technical Affairs of Abu Dhabi Gas Industries, GASCO, has affirmed that automation of operations in oil industries and associated innovations remain the driving force to address industry challenges and ensure safety of operations from any risks. ''Progress in automation of operations constitutes a key part to maintain efficiency and productivity of our gas fields. We at GASCO set a role model in overcoming challenges through introduction and deployment of diverse automation methods in all our operations,'' Al Muhairi said on Monday in a keynote address at the 1st UAE ISA Automation Conference and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Al Muhairi, also Event Chairman, said, "GASCO is using innovative solutions for industry automation to increase quality of our products and meet demands of our clients.'' Noting current fluctuations in world oil prices, Al Muhairi said that operation automation technology is able to sustain profitability of operating companies. ''We are looking forward to having advanced techniques that can lift automation levels,'' he added. Organisers, DMS Global, a global marketing specialist for the energy sector, said the International Society of Automation's UAE Automation Conference and Exhibition 2016 is a full-scale conference and tradeshow in the Gulf Region dedicated for process automation. The event will focus on measurement, control and safety system latest technologies and its applications through a two-day Technical Conference and Product Exhibition. The event is being held in Abu Dhabi to emphasise the local content and to reflect the true position of the UAE as a major market of automation products and technologies.
