Azerbaijan-Indonesia energy forum kicks off in Baku

Baku, February 1, AZERTAC An Azerbaijan-Indonesia energy forum has started in Baku. Addressing the event, Azerbaijan’s energy minister Natig Aliyev highlighted the relations between the two countries. He said the forum will play a special role in developing the bilateral ties. He hailed both countries` achievements and potential in the field of energy. Aliyev stressed that oil sector plays an important part in the economies of Azerbaijan and Indonesia. “Initiated by Azerbaijan, important projects are being carried out in order to meet the energy demand not only of the region, but also the European continent,” the minister added. Director General for Oil and Gas at Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Gusti Nyoman Wiratmaja Puja emphasized Indonesia`s interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector. He said mutual investment in the field of energy, especially active participation of the private sector, will make a significant contribution to the development of the bilateral relations.
