Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of cottonseed oil production

Baku, December 8, AZERTAC “Azerbaijan and Pakistan have good opportunities for conducting exchange of experience and establishing cooperation in the sphere of cottonseed oil production,” Minister of National Food Security & Research of Pakistan Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has told journalists in Baku. The Pakistani minister noted that the necessary steps will soon be taken towards ensuring the exchange of researchers, teachers and students in the agrarian sector. “Given the fact that Pakistan is the fourth largest cotton producing country and one of the biggest exporters of rice in the world, the two countries will only benefit from this cooperation. Pakistan produces about 7 million tons of rice per year, of which 4 million are exported to foreign countries. There is also a great potential for joint cooperation in this area,” the minister said. Khan Bosan stressed the possibility of conducting joint exhibitions, saying that these exhibitions can be organized both in Azerbaijan and Islamabad. “Pakistan is one of the world's largest mango producing countries. We can also export mango to Azerbaijan. There is a proposal to hold Pakistani products' exhibition in Azerbaijan beginning from May 2018, as well as to carry out similar exhibitions in Pakistan," he added.
