Azerbaijan Republic Calls For Railroad Network Link With Iran

Ankara, Sept 7, IRNA – Minister of Transportation of Azerbaijan Republic Ziya Mammadov, in a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Planning Abbas Akhundi here on Friday, called for railroad network connection with Iran. The meeting was held here on the sidelines of the 11th International Conference of Transport, Maritime and Communication in Istanbul. The two sides, in the meeting, underlined importance of transportation in expansion of economic ties between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic. Mammadov also appreciated Iran for providing Azerbaijan Republic vehicles with facilities on Irans roads. Akhundi arrived in Istanbul heading a delegation on Wednesday evening. In the 3-day conference, 16 ministers and six deputy ministers from different countries participated. /end
