Azerbaijan, Russia discuss prospects for developing ICT cooperation

Baku, August 27 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov has met Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media of Russia Rashid Ismayilov to discuss prospects for developing ICT cooperation. Saying he was feeling proud of the fact that a cadre of Azerbaijani origin had been appointed to high office in the Russian Federation after the fall of the USSR, Ali Abbasov stressed that the high-level bilateral relations between the two countries are strengthening from year to year. The minister said this is because these relations were established on a solid foundation based on the principles of sincere friendship and good neighbourhood. There is great potential for expanding of cooperation in various fields between the two countries, including in the field of information and communication technologies and investment. In his turn, Rashid Ismayilov expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries. He said that as Deputy Minister he would make every effort to further strengthen this cooperation in the background of close relations between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia. Speaking about the prospects for the development of Azerbaijani - Russian cooperation, Rashid Ismayilov, who chaired the 29th session of the Commission for International Cooperation Coordination of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC), stressed the importance of increasing mutual investment activities. The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest related to the communications and ICT sphere and exchanged views on new areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
