Azeri Economic Activists Eager To Attend Iranian Exhibitions

Baku, June 12, IRNA – Presence of 3 Azerbaijan Republic economic delegations in Iranian int’l exhibitions in past 30 days and 3 other Azeri delegations’ will to participate at int’l exhibitions and investment possibility conferences is proof for positive approach for bilateral economic ties. The Economic Attache of Iran Embassy in Baku, Faraj Shahidi in an interview with IRNA on Tuesday referred to the presence of Azerbaijan Republic’s economic representatives at Tehran Washing Detergents, Sanitary Items, and Related Materials, as well as the Tehran Agricultural Industries, Foodstuff, and Related Industries exhibitions and the Kish International Construction Material Exhibition as “spectacularly great enthusiasm.” He said, “In negotiations with the managers of the Azeri firms willing to participate in more of these exhibitions they expressed satisfaction over the level of holding them and the organizing officials of them. Shahidi also referred to the signing of one million US dollar contract signed between Azeri delegation and their Iranian partner in the course of the Foodstuff Exhibition, adding, “Surveys show that the negotiations between the Iranian and Azeri merchants have been fruitful and the talks for finalizing some deals, too, are still underway under the harmonizing role of the cultural attache of Iran Embassy in Azerbaijan.” Shahidi also referred to the upcoming holding of the International Tile, Ceramics and Sanitary Products in Tehran and the enthusiasm of some Azeri firms for attending that event as an economic opportunity, saying, “Keeping in mind the capacity and great demand for construction materials in Azerbaijan Republic, and number of commercial Azeri firms that import them from Italy and Spain have recently expressed interest in importing them from Iran in their contacts with the Economic Attaché of Iran Embassy. The Iranian economic official in Azerbaijan Republic also said that the volume of the Iranian tiles and ceramic works exported to Azerbaijan Republic in 2012 was about six million US dollars. Shahidi also said that a noticeable number of Azeri investors have already announced readiness for attending the East Azarbaijan International Investment Opportunities Conference, where economic cooperation and making foreign investments in the Comprehensive Development Plan of Aras Free Zone and Tabriz Industrial Townships are to be discussed./end
