Bangkok To Find Sustainable Solution To Its Southern Problem

BANGKOK, July 27 (Bernama) -- The Thai government will not be careless over the improving situation in its southern provinces but will keep on trying to find a sustainable solution to the problem, said Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha. He said the government will consider any development and investment proposals in southern Thailand but cautioned it must be in line with the overall national's plan. "We will consider social, development and investment proposals for southern Thailand," he told reporters after chairing the weekly cabinet meeting at the Government House Tuesday. Monday, the Prime Minister made a one-day visit to Narathiwat, one of the troubled southern provinces which has been affected by years of armed conflict. Meanwhile, assistant government spokesman Col Taksada Sangkachan said, Prayuth will attend the International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Aug 16. -- BERNAMA
