Bangkok To Host International Logistics Fair 2014

By Azlee Nor Mahmud KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- Bangkok will host the Thailand International Logistics Fair (TILOG) 2014, showcasing the country's logistics capabilities in driving forward international trade opportunities, at the International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from Sept 24 to 27, 2014. It will be organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion in collaboration, Thailand with logistics-related agencies and the private sector under the concept of Asean+6 Logistics Connectivity, Thai Embassy in Malaysia Minister Counsellor for Commercial Affairs Vichada Pabunjertkit said. TILOG 2014 offers logistics operators a chance to present their innovations, products, and services to local and international manufacturers and business owners, she told Bernama. Pabunjertkit extended her invitation to Malaysian logistics service providers to the fair to gain insights into business opportunities with a view of expanding their networks. "With Asean trade liberalisation coming on-stream in 2015, DITP realises the importance of logistics efficiency development among foreign and Thai logistic operators in order to retain their competitive advantage," she said. TILOG 2014, one of the biggest fairs in the country, features a wide range of products and services offered by both local and foreign logistics operators, hardware manufacturers, software and information technology service providers, she said, adding that business-matching sessions would also be held. Over 10,000 people visited TILOG 2013 where 125 companies from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, China and host Thailand took part. --BERNAMA
