Bangkok hosts 2nd FTBF

BANGKOK, January 31 (TNA) - The France-Thailand Business Forum (FTBF) holds its second meeting in Bangkok on Thursday, in which a team of visiting French business operators, led by the FTBF Chairman for the French side, François Corbin, participates. While chairing the opening session of the 2nd FTBF gathering, Thai Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said those on top of its agenda include issues that were first raised for discussions by French President Emmanuel Macron and Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha during their meeting in France in mid-2018. "Thursday's 2nd FTBF gathering was set to review and look into progress of the issues of cooperation between Paris and Bangkok through their public and private sectors, after they were first discussed by the French president and the Thai prime minister last year and to welcome both French and Thai participants to exchange their experiences and opinions, expected to result in more confidence in the Thai economy by the leading French business delegates", the minister stated. Meanwhile, the FTBF chairman for the French side acknowledged that the FTBT is an efficient body where both the French and the Thai business sectors can successfully develop their pro-active ties and cooperation, which is also its main goal. The FTBF chairman, who is also Chairman of the MEDEF International, a non-profit private-funded, international-level organization where most French private employers are members, and Executive Vice President of Michelin Company, is leading a French business delegation to visit Thailand during January 30-February 1. After arriving in Bangkok on Wednesday, the leading French business delegation first met the Thai prime minister, before Thursday's 2nd FTBF gathering and Friday's field trip to the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project.
