Banking System Must Help Industrialists: Deputy Minister

Tehran, Oct 12, IRNA – Deputy Industry, Mines and Trade Minister Seyed Mohammad Ali Abrishami, underlining the need for removal of liquidity problem of industrial units said part of the industrial problems is caused by lack of allocation of banking facilities. He called on the banking system to rush to help industrialists. Outlining problems of small industries, Abrishami noted that in recent years some non-industrialists misused such facilities in the name of industry and deprived real industrialists of the advantage. He further remarked that according to an approval by the government, a sum of 100 thousand billion rials in facilities is due to be allocated to small industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and proper mechanisms have been considered for such allocation. Abrishami also rejected collection of tax on value added of industrial units and said 6.3% of the tax is paid to municipalities while municipalities do not offer any services to industrial towns. He announced readiness of Industrial Towns Company to render services to industrialists in accordance with the booklets of the contract, adding that redundant regulations should be reformed through legal channels./end
