BAS staff development plan reviewed

Manama, July 26 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan on Monday received Abdullah Moussa Bu Khamseen the CEO of Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) Company. During the meeting, the minister reviewed the Company's plan for preparation of young Bahraini employees to assume leading positions to drive the wheel productivity as well as the development of (BAS Aviation Engineering Training Centre) accredited by specialized international organisations which attracts trainees from inside the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad. The Company has 30-years of experience in aircraft maintenance, engineering and supervision over an integrated passenger and cargo handling service began to receive trainees from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to boost the kingdom's leading position as an advanced and pioneering regional vocational training centre. Similarly, the minister praised BAS board of directors' decision to send at its cost Bahraini staff to pursue higher technical studies with the aim of promotion and confirmation in the company's higher echelons The minister urged the private sector companies and establishments to follow the example of BAS initiative as part of their training policy to hire Bahraini manpower in the various administrative and technical positions. From his side, Bu Khamseen praised the existing cooperation between the ministry and Bahrain Airport Services Company (BAS) which contributed to boosting the work environment and increasing the standard of competitiveness in productive locations and the creation of encouraging incentive to workers and employees. He also praised the ministry's role in providing the company with qualified Bahrain staff in possession of work ethics thanks to the ministry's programmes of qualifying jobseekers and imparting them with the necessary skills as required by the labour market.
