Basra, Iraq (NINA) - Basra Governor, Asaad al-Eidani discussed with the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic "several issues, including the suffering of Basra from previous wars and the active participation in many humanitarian programs. He stressed that cooperation with the United Nations Mission in Iraq will continue and in other areas, stressing that Basra is open to all brothers and friends of the world to open consulates in Basra and they are welcomed all, "noting that "the relationship is very good with all neighboring countries and this openness will return positively to the province and encourages Commercial and industrial investment. For his part, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic that he came to Basra to pay tribute to the sacrifices of its people and young people for the unity of Iraq, pointing out that Basra has made other economic sacrifices, the heart of Iraq's spring. He added that the new era of post-Daesh, the United Nations should work more and focus in that work to support the needs of people, especially Basra and help in the restoration of stability and construction in Iraq, stressing his focus on the work of the United Nations on the education sector, health and environment and the investment sector and other issues. Kubic said he discussed with the governor the issue of young people, especially as many of them returned from the battlefields and they need jobs and need to secure their future.
