Battery charging stations for EVs to be opened in Bangkok, peripheral provinces

BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) - The state-run Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has announced that it is now ready to open its battery charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in Bangkok and peripheral provinces as a pilot project. MEA Assistant Governor Wilas Chaloeysat told journalists that there are 12 battery charging stations for EVs under the MEA pilot project in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan Provinces. Wilas said that his MEA has also conducted research and development (R & D) projects on standard battery charging machines for EVs in Thailand and planned its expanding production of electricity to sufficiently meet the market demand for EV motorists in the future to support the public safety, as well as the security and efficiency of the domestic EV production industry. Besides, the "MEA EV Application" has been developed for the free downloading by users of smart phones, based on both the IOS and the Android systems, at https://goo.gl/F6C5bV, through which they can access to comprehensive information on EVs in Thailand, including all available battery charging stations run by the MEA and other agencies and online maps or positioning systems to the places, as well as the real time-booking service for any charging machine with users' individual archive.
