Batu Raja Cement Factory To Increase Production

Palembang, S Sumatra, Sept 30 (Antara) - Publicly listed state-owned cement producer PT Semen Baturaja will gradually increase its production to meet the need for cement of South Sumatra`s cement consumers. "In order to increase production, the company will build a number of new factories and optimize the production capacity of its existing plants," PT Semen Baturaja Spokesman Sahadi said here on Tuesday. Semen Baturaja now has three factories in the Palembang City, Baturaja (both in South Sumatra) and Kota Panjang (Lampung) with a total production capacity of two million tons per annum. With maximizing the production of the existing factories and the construction of new ones, PT Semen Baturaja is predicted to produce 3.85 million tons per annum in 2016. He said that the plans were expected to run smoothly based on schedules so that the need for cement of consumers in South Sumatra and neighboring regions could be met. Sahadi noted that the company had the obligation to maintain the availability of stock and meet the need for cement in Southern Sumatran provinces, namely South Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung and Bangka Belitung.
