BCCI restructures admin, executive body

Manama, July 30 (BNA): Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has commenced the implementation of its plan to restructure its administrative and executive body, which comes in manifestation to the board’s strategy to reinforce the role of the Chamber in the national economy and in serving and advocating the interests of the private sector. The reforms, which are implemented in coordination with JAFCON, entail job relocations, the creation and elimination of some departments and divisions, and the revision of operations and salary scale. In this regard, Chairman of the Chamber Khalid Almoayyed ascertained "the restructuring comes in translation to the board’s vision to solidify the role of the Chamber and upgrade its operations to better serve the private sector and facilitate its advancement". Al Moayyed said: "The Chamber is to assume a much larger role and to expand and embrace a wider base of members, and offer them an array of new services to meet their needs and aspirations". He elaborated "We believe that our human resource is our most valuable asset, and the success of any organization is driven by its competent and motivated manpower. Hence, our strategy emphasizes improving the work environment, the compensation scale, and embracing and maintaining the most competent and creative professionals". Concluding his statement, Al Moayyed expressed his optimism in the outcomes of the transformations, stressing that the Chamber is to highlight the role of its committees and joint business councils, streamline the path to entrepreneurs and encourage innovation, support women and youth to venture the business world, assume a transparent stance on issues of social affairs, and encourage businesses to adapt social responsibilities.
