Belgian Economic Attaché Asks For Industrial Coop With Isfahan

Isfahan, September 30, IRNA – Belgian Embassy's Economic Attaché Elizabeth Franker Hoffen here Monday asked for broader economic ties between her country and Isfahan, especially in textile industry field. Ms. Hoffen made the proposal in a session of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce allocated to surveying the business and investment opportunities in Isfahan. 'In very near future the Belgian textile machinery industrialists will inform you about the latest technical achievements in textile industry,' she added. She said that the Belgian industrialists, and not middlemen, will present their latest technological achievements to the Iranian managers and technicians. The secretary of Belgian Textile Industry Syndicate, too, who was also present in the meeting, said that the Belgian textile industry is comprised of 40 companies, whose annual financial turnover is 920 million Euros and some 3,900 people work in them. Aaron Witz said that those companies are active in production of production of home and industrial textiles, including carpets, curtains, velvet, bed mats, textile, and garments. He said that Belgium is the manufacturers of the world's fastest textile machines, called the Air Jet. Witz said that the Belgian textile industry is also the leader in that technology in the world, which is why the first top 5 position in inventions and innovations in this field is always allocated to them./end
