BNI Helps Promote In Dubai Investment Opportunities In Indonesia

Jakarta, April 9(Antara) - Publicly traded lender PT Bank Negara Indonesia said it helped the government in its program to promote investment opportunities in Indonesia through the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) 2014, organized in Dubai by the trade ministry of the United Arab Emirates. BNI supports the government program to draw investors from the UAE to do business in Indonesia, Yap Tjay Soen, the finance director of the state bank said in a news release received here on Wednesday. BNI participation in the forum, apart from supporting the program of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), will study the market potential and seek to expand export market for Indonesian commodities in the Middle East, Yap Tjay Soen said. BNI could facilitate business matching between its potential clients with strategic partners and investors from that regions including the United Arab Emirates, Yap said. "We could serve to bring together potential clients with strategic partners and investors from that regions including in the United Arab Emirates," he said. In addition, BNI will involve its sharia bank subsidiary BNI Syariah to study business cooperation with strategic partners from the predominantly Muslim region, he added. Through the cooperation, BNI Syariah hopes to strengthen its competitiveness globally , he said. BNI also has a Remittance Representative Officer in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, to help Indonesia migrant workers in that region to send their money to their relatives in Indonesia, he said. BNI is set to continue to expand its global business networks including in Middle East, which is now considered a potential global economic center, he said.
