BRI Allocates Rp25.5 Trillion During Lebaran

Jakarta, July 21 (Antara) - Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) (BRI) Tbk has allocated cash worth Rp25.5 trillion to cater to the needs of its customers during the Lebaran holidays this year. "Our cash worth Rp7.56 trillion will be placed in 540 branch offices and about Rp17.94 trillion will be allocated to 19,164 BRI automated teller machines (ATMs) across Indonesia. So, the total cash is about Rp25.5 trillion," BRI Corporate Secretary Budi Satria stated here on Monday. He noted that the needs of its customers during the Lebaran holidays have become BRI`s service priority. The funds will be distributed through the branch offices and ATMs of BRI. Budi hopes that the funds will help to meet the needs of its customers for a week before and after Idul Fitri. Budi pointed out that the amount of allocated cash this year is up seven percent or Rp1.7 trillion as compared to last year. Meanwhile, the company has allocated cash worth Rp1.23 trillion to 88 branch offices in the area of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek). BRI ATMs in the area of Jabodetabek will be supplied about Rp5.09 trillion. Thus, for this region the company has set aside cash worth Rp6.32 trillion. "In 2013, we supplied Rp5.97 trillion, and this year, there is an increase of about six percent or Rp348 billion," he pointed out. He explained that the increase has been calculated based on the level of cash requirements of the public. Based on assumption, the daily cash requirements of branch offices and ATMs are an average of Rp1 billion during the week before and after Idul Fitri. In keeping with this demand, the company will load its ATMs four times a week.
