British Airways Flies Back To Malaysia

SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia), May 28 (Bernama) -- British Airways, the national flag carrier of the United Kingdom, has recommenced its London to Kuala Lumpur service after a 14-year gap with its inaugural flight arriving Thursday at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The daily non-stop service between London's Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) operates on a four-cabin Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. Speaking at the inaugural flight arrival ceremony at KLIA here Thursday, British Airways Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific Area General Manager Jamie Cassidy said the return of the airline was timely. "Malaysia is now among the top vibrant economies in Asia, and the ninth most visited country in the world. It's timely, we are so happy to be back to Kuala Lumpur and are keen on helping Malaysia continue its success story," he said. Also present at the event were Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Aziz Kaprawi, Tourism Malaysia Director General Mirza Mohammad Taiyab and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd Managing Director Badlisham Ghazali. British Airways offers customers a choice of four cabins including the airline's new First class, the award-winning Club World business class, World Traveller Plus premium economy and World Traveller economy class. In welcoming the airline, Badlisham said the historic ties between the two countries would no doubt be strengthened with the recommencement of the service. "As the newest destination in British Airways' global network, I'm confident that visitors from the United Kingdom and across Europe will appreciate the many opportunities for business and tourism that Malaysia has to offer," he said. -- BERNAMA
