Bursa Malaysia Derivaties And Dalian Commodity Exchange Renew Collaboration Agreement

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Bhd (BMD) and Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) Tuesday renewed the collaboration agreement for a further three years from 2017 to jointly organise the China International Oils and Oilseeds Conference (CIOC). The agreement was signed at the 11th annual China International Oils and Oilseeds Conference hosted in Guangzhou, China. "The collaboration will allow both DCE and Bursa Malaysia to find new ways to develop the conference further and provide participants and industry players with a high level platform for information exchange and networking," said Bursa Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Tajuddin Atan. In a statement issued in Guangzhou Tuesday, he said through the collaboration, both exchanges would cross promote the conference and their respective products to key industry players in China and Malaysia. "As the products of BMD and DCE are interrelated, the cooperation between the two parties will benefit all key enterprises along the palm oil industry chain in China and Malaysia," Tajuddin added. Meanwhile, DCE Chief Executive Officer Wang Feng Hai said BMD was assuming an influential role in the ASEAN derivatives market. "Over the years, BMD and DCE have established a strategic relationship that goes beyond conference organisation. "In addition to the CIOC event, DCE will also work closely with BMD in promoting the development of both markets, through sharing of global experience, as well as strengthening the research and development of futures products," Wang said. Since its inception in 2005, CIOC has attracted more than 1,000 local and international participants, annually, and played host to senior dignitaries and speakers from the oils and oilseeds industry and trading community. -- BERNAMA
